The People & Planet International Photography Competition is open to amateur and professional photographers anywhere in the world. The competition aims to select 53 photos to be published in the 2012 People & Planet: Social Justice & Environment Diary & Calendar, which raise money fora group of Australian charities.

Art2Heart Project

JCI Whitehorse Maroondah is very excited about our new community project. Led by our new member, Miss Amber Somerset, the Art2Heart project will offer 10 primary school students from disadvantaged backgrounds a chance to visit art studios and hands-on experience with artists through a 6-week program. JCI Australia 2011 President, Alan MacKinnon together with the AGM Organising Committee, JCI Whitehorse Maroondah invite you to this year's AGM weekend taking place in Victoria on 8-10 April 2011. We promise an exciting AGM program featuring: a plenary session with world-renowned malaria expert, Professor John Reeder of Brunet Institute, Melbourne 3 training sessions about leadership, membership building and marketing strategies an official opening of a local Nothing but Nets community project, a speaking competition, a fundraising dinner with a cultural experience, a photography exhibition, and a chance to meet up with friends. 2011 Australia Day: Fundraising for Flood Relief Effort

Our chapter has always been very much community-focused. Once again we participated in this year's celebration on Australia Day organised by the City of Whitehorse. The popular twilight concert provided us a chance to sell glow bands raising money for the Queensland and Victoria Flood Relief Effort.

When: Wednesday 26 January 2011 from 6pm-10pm

Results: Yeah, wonderful effort! We have raised $1751.40 for the flood relief fund!! Thanks to everyone for coming!

Wish Tree 2010 Christmas Appeal


Proudly supported by Officeworks, Glen Waverley, JCI Whitehorse Maroondah successfully ran Wish Tree 2010 Christmas Appeal. Here is a brief report.

Who: Primary school students in the Monsh and Whitehorse districts

Why: Share the Christmas spirit and win
awesome prizes

What: 1. Hand make a present that is $15 or
less and donate it to the Wish Tree
2010 Christmas Appeal
2. We will spread the community spirit by donating the artwork to needed families this Christmas

When: 1st Sep to 12th Nov 2010

Results: More than 45 pieces of art work were donated to Eastern Emergency Relief in Mitcham and Connections UnitingCare in Mt Waverley.
